Teen Titans #92 Review

In the last issue, Tim Drake sent out a signal for help to the Titans Tower. The issue begins with the Titans battling against an array of robots consisting of bombs. The Titans defeat and compile all the robots together, allowing Kid Flash to consume them in a whirlwind and deteriorating the explosives.

From a hidden location, Calculator, the source behind the robots, watches the Titans and mulls over the death of his son, Marvin, under the leadership of Cassie.

In search of Calculator, the Titans find themselves at a club but are unable to track him due to the crowd. Conner blasts a hole through the floor to disperse the crowd but manages to find an underground path as well which leads the Titans to Calculator.

The Calculator brings out more robots and the Titans find themselves easily subdued. The Calculator speaks to Cassie, bringing up the topic of Kid Eternity. He shows footages on his computer from when he used Kid Eternity to summon his son, the strenuous process having led Kid Eternity power’s to wash out. The Calculator compares his usage of Kid Eternity to Cassie’s handling of his son.

This angers Cassie and she breaks from the restraints the robots have placed on her but they continue to hold her back. With one free arm, Damian takes the opportunity to fling a weapon at Calculators computer, dismantling the robots.

Cassie lunges at Calculator but Tim persuades her from possibly killing him. Cassie simply tosses him aside. Damian, however, feigning to help Calculator on his feet, gives a blow Calculator’s chest. It is revealed to only be another robot. Cassie shoves the robot into malfunctioning computers, electrifying him.

Tim knew it was a robot, so Cassie questions why he did not allow her to attack him. Tim claims it is because Cassie did not know, thus it would’ve been real to her. The Titans bask in their victory with Tim, but Damian takes the moment to announce his leave from the Teen Titan, claiming they already had a Robin.

In Gotham City, Tim tries to convince Damian from leaving though with no success. Damian returns to Batman’s side, claiming him to be the only friend he needed.

A mediocre issue, that saw to the end of Damian’s time with the Teen Titans. Do you feel his leave his temporary or permanent? Either way, it leaves room for the arrival of the new member in the coming issue-Solstice.
