Raven Rising

When last the Titans saw Raven, she was without a body. Her father’s influence had overcome her, and her fellow Titans were forced to destroy her host body. Afterwards, she appeared to them as a disembodied golden-hued soul, finally cleansed of her father’s evil, yet not allowed to be at peace in the after-life. Eventually, she left Earth with Garfield Logan (Changeling) and Jarras (Minion) to travel across the galaxy with Victor Stone (Cyberion). Over time, Raven, Garfield, and Minion grew frightened over Victor’s total embrace of technology, and left him. Raven ascended to another plane of existence, setting out on a pilgrimage to discover a new meaning in life for herself. Victor was eventually reverted back to his original body through an encounter with the Thinker, and once again took up the name Cyborg. Garfield left the Titans to try to revive his movie career, using the name Beast boy once again to help generate publicity. For a time, he lead a new group of heroes, dubbed Titans L.A, with fellow ex-Titan Bette Kane (Flamebird); the group, however, disbanded. Minion once again embraced his pacifistic beliefs, and seems to have retired from being a super-hero. Victor decided that he wanted to reform the Teen Titans as a place where the young heroes of the world could come both to relax and to train together. Garfield Logan and Koriand’r (Starfire) joined him as well. Bart Allen (Impulse), Casssie Sandsmark (Wonder Girl), Connor Kent (Superboy), and Robin (Tim Drake) become the new team’s first members.

1) Raven’s role in the world was not meant to end, however. The Church of Blood used their rituals to both create a new younger Brother Blood, and his wife-to-be, Raven. Her soul now attached to a new body, Raven was meant to marry Sebastian (Brother Blood 8) and produce a child to bring about the end of the world of the living.

2) Raven, weakened, attempted to contact the Titans as they fought a crazed Joseph Wilson (Jericho), drawn by her friends’ pain. However, the cult found her, and took her back along with Jericho before the Titans could do anything.

3) Over the next few weeks, the Victor, Koriand’r, and Garfield tried to track down Raven. Contacted by a doctor at the local hospital, Dr. Rovin, Victor sends Garfield with Bart (now Kid Flash), Robin, and Wondergirl to investigate the strange occurrence. Upon arrival, Beast boy recognizes the energy signature surrounding the unconscious psychics as belonging to Raven.

4) Immediately afterwards, Raven begins desperately trying to reach out to the Titans. As Cyborg, Starfire, and Superboy deal with the animated remains of Trigon in the San Francisco Bay, Raven focuses on Beast boy and possess him with her soul self.

5) With Beast boy under Raven’s control, he enters the form of a raven and leads the Titans to Brother Blood’s hidden Church in Phoenix, Arizona.

6) Upon arrival, the Titans battle through Brother Blood’s followers. Raven is under the control of Sebastian, weakened also because her chakra was ripped from her head and swallowed by Brother Blood. When Beast boy approaches Raven, she begins to break from Blood’s grasp, and Garfield regains control of his mind.

7) The fighting becomes too intense, and Beast boy is forced to retreat with the weakened Raven. During their escape, he is injured.

8) Away from the fighting, Beast boy stops for a moment to rest. He notices Raven’s chakra is gone, and she proceeds to heal his cut.

9) The two begin speaking. She briefly explains how she was able to reach out to Beast boy, and that this new Brother Blood draws power form those whose Blood he drinks of. Beast boy mentions how Raven never really felt comfortable around her friends. Raven comes to admit her fears and anxieties to Beast boy, and the two embrace.

10) They are quickly interrupted by Brother Blood. Beast boy tried to defend Raven, but is overtaken. Brother Blood explains to Raven directly that she is destined to give birth to a child who will unify the Church of Blood and who will destroy those who are not their followers.

Brother Blood is interrupted by Robin and Starfire, who were separate from the others earlier. In order to find the others, Starfire makes a deal with Slade Wilson (Deathstroke the Terminator) and his daughter, Rose Wilson (The Ravager), to give them Raven in exchange for a way out of the Church’s catacombs. Slade and Rose want to kill Jericho, who had murdered Slade’s best friend, Wintergreen, and to do that they need to kill Raven, who possesses Jericho’s soul within her. Starfire breaks her promise to allow Slade to take Raven when they finally arrive, but the fighting is cut short when Blood regains control of Raven’s mind and forces her to suck the other Titans into another dimension. Inside the dimension, a battle with Jericho ensues.

11) Eventually, Raven’s body becomes a portal, and a group of demons begin to pour out from another dimension. With them come the captured Titans, Slade, Rose, and Jericho. As the younger Titans fight off the released demons, Garfield tells them they have to hurry and retrieve Raven’s chakra. Starfire holds Brother Blood’s mouth open, and Beast boy enters his intestines in order to find Raven’s chakra.

12) After a few moments, Beast boy succeeds in retrieving the chakra. Returning it to Raven, she sends the demons, Brother Blood, and his followers to another dimension; after which, she teleports the Titans back to their tower.

13) Raven tries to leave, believing that her presence at the tower will only bring more danger. Beast boy and the others, however, are able to convince her to stay and rejoin the team.

14) Later, Beast boy shows raven to her new bedroom. She thanks him for retrieving her chakra, and surveys her new room. As the view switches to outside her window, we see the two embracing.

Beast Boys and Girls

As time goes on, Raven adjusts to her new life. Her hair begins to grow back, and she begins to form a friendship with Cassie Sandsmark. During this time, an outbreak of a mutated strain of the virus Sakuita, which gave Beast boy his changeling powers, begins to infect children around the city. Beast boy himself is infected, and the new virus attacks the old one within him, curing him and returning him to normal. The city believes that Beast boy is responsible, but it is soon revealed that the carrier is Garfield’s father’s former lab assistant, Dr. Register (The Zookeeper). Register himself has the same abilities as Garfield, and tries to kill him in order to understand how Beast boy was cured.

15) Cyborg saves Beast boy, and the other Titans fight the Zookeeper. Beast boy, injected with a poison from Dr. Register, lays unconscious. Raven comes to his rescue, curing him of the poison. At the same time, she seems to flirt with him.

Beast boy decides that only he can stop Doctor Register, and so infects himself as second time. With his reacquired abilities, he defeats Doctor Register, and has a cure distributed to the rest of the city. However, because of the second infection he gave himself, he is unable to recieve a cure. Despite this, he is content with his place in the Titans.

Titans of Tomorrow

Soon after, the Titans travel into the distant future with Superboy, where they take on an enemy with the Legion of Super-Heroes. On the return trip home, however, they are interrupted and end up ten years into their own future. Here, they meet the Titans West, a team consisting of Batman (Tim Drake), Superman (Connor Kent), Wonder Woman (Cassie Sandsmark), The Flash (Bart Allen), Aquawoman (Lorena), Dark Raven (Raven), and Animal Man (Beast boy). AS they find out, their future counterparts have created a military state over the Western United States, which Batman rules as the leader of the Titans West. Dark Raven has become their new religious figure, using her powers to take away the free wills of the populace. They are fought by a rebel group known as Titans East, who had also hired Slade Wilson to work for them. Titans East planted The Flash as a spy on their fallen friends. Titans East is lead by Cyborg 2.0 (Cyborg), and consists of Tara Markov (Terra), Karen Beecher (Bumblebee), Freddy Freeman (Captain Marvel), Bette Kane (Batwoman), and Rose Wilson (The Ravager). The Titans of the past join Titans East to help save Robin, who was captured, and return them home to the past to prevent this future from coming to pass.

16) When Beast boy asks Cyborg 2.0 how he and he could ever grow apart, Terra interrupts and says that Garfield left for Titans West because he had rejected her. Before explaining further, she is interrupted by Bumblebee. Although obscure, the remark, along with other evidence, seems to shed some light on what happened. The Titans broke up after returning to the past, going their separate ways. Following a great “Crisis”, many of them felt devasted by the death of so many heroes. It seems that Robin took charge of the Titans, followed by Superboy, Wondergirl, and possibly Flash (until he joined Titans East). Somewhere along the line, Aquagirl joined. Raven probably followed Cassie, her new friend, who in turn brought Beast boy with her. This seems to be supported by Tara’s comment, as there seems to be no other reason why Garfield’s refusal to be with Terra would have any great effect on his decision to follow the Titans West.

Eventually, the Titans return to the past. As time goes on, Starfire leaves the team to join Dick Grayson (Nightwing) on the Outsiders. Robin takes some time off because of the death of his father, which he keeps secret from the other Titans.

Interim

17) On a rather quiet day, Cassie is teaching Raven how to dress normally. Beast boy comes to Raven’s room to see if she and Cassie want to see a movie together. There he sees Raven in her red dress, and discovers that Raven is going to high school under the alias Rachel Roth. Beast boy’s comments and humor over seeing Raven in normal attire causes Raven to become upset, forcing Beast boy out of her room. This moment helps to illuminate a possible source of tension between the two.

Time passes, and Mia Dearden (Speedy) joins the Teen Titans. They go on to battle Dr. Light, whose returned memories have caused him to become a great threat, and was finally taken down only after facing every single person who was ever a Titan, and even then only barely.

The Insiders

18) After the fight with Dr. Light, Superboy begins to question himself. Lex Luthor activates a hidden “program” in Superboy’s mind, causing him too attack the Titans. Raven is the first one to realize that something is wrong. She warns Garfield before the others, and then takes the brunt of Superboy’s heat vision. After the smoke clears, Garfield calls out to Raven, but is then knocked out by another heat vision blast from Superboy.

The Titans regroup with the Outsiders, and together they defeat Lex Luthor. Superboy is freed from his control, and the Outsider Indigo dies in battle. Nightwing quits the Outsiders and leaves them. After some time, Raven visits Superboy in Smallville, and helps him to discover his soul in hopes of helping him to feel better. Still doubtful of himself, Superboy distances himself from the Titans and refuses to fight.

Legacy

Once again, the Titans try to take some time to relax, but instead are attacked by an enemy called Kestrel, who wishes to kidnap Raven and use her powers. The Titans call in the assistance of Hawk and Dove.

19) At one point, Kestrel shatters raven’s soul self. He takes a piece with him. Through it, he “knows” things about her. Before he cuts off, he mentions tasting her “Lo-”, which may perhaps her “love”, though what is meant is still obscure. Considering the events that follow, however, it may indeed refer to Beast boy.

Back at the tower, Donna Troy (Troia) calls on Cyborg to assist her with a battle that is taking place in the center of the universe. Cyborg leaves Beast boy in charge of the Titans while he’s away. The two are knocked out by surprise by the newly resurfaced, former Robin Jason Todd (Red Hood). He uses a sleeping gas on Raven to keep her asleep as well. He proceeds to battle Tim Drake, who he believes is not worthy of the legacy of Robin. Beating Tim to near death, Tim awakens in the presence of the other Titans. At this time, Raven and Beast boy are left to clean up the damage to the tower by themselves.

20) As they are cleaning up, Raven and Beast boy begin to wonder about all the dead people who seem to be coming back to life. Raven explains how the “door between life and death” must somehow be open, when suddenly her body becomes a portal. From the portal, steps out the dead Titan, Lillith, and Brother Blood.

Lost and Found

21) Beast boy tries to take out Brother Blood, but is attacked by Lillith and put to sleep.

22) Lillith, under Brother Blood’s control, brings Raven and Beast boy to Los Angeles, where his demons have already begun to destroy the city. Before he can take a bite out of Beast boy, Raven pushes Garfield away and teleports them elsewhere.

23) In the safety of an underground morgue, Beast boy awakens. Raven explains that the “doorway between life and death” has been opened, and that the dead are exploiting her soul self to get into the world. Raven tries blaming herself, as does Beast boy in turn. Raven goes to heal Beast boy, but he wants her to save her strength. She explains that she only wants him to be okay. After a moment of tension, Raven kisses Beast boy.

Kid Flash, Speedy, and Wonder Girl meet up with Garfield and Raven in the morgue. From there, Beast boy leads them into the streets where they begin battling Brother Blood’s demons. As the fight wages, Brother Blood arrives with a group of dead Titans under his control, including Lillith, Kole, Phantasm, the first Hawk and Dove, and the first Aquagirl. The fight continues between them.

24) The Titans regroup, and Beast boy talks to Raven about closing the “doorway.” He sends Bart, Mia, and Cassie to take on Blood, while he and Raven go to close the doorway. Raven tells him he does not have to come, but he says he wants to be there for moral support. Once in the afterlife, Raven helps Beast boy to maneuver in the void. The two embrace, and Beast boy questions her about their kiss.

25) Raven avoids answering for now, and Garfield wonders if the kiss was real or just in the heat of the moment. Before the conversation can go any further, the two arrive at the “doorway”.

Beast boy and Raven succeed in freeing Kid Eternity, who had been chained to the doorway. Kid Eternity closes the door, and returns with them to Earth, where he defeats Brother Blood.

Infinite Crisis

Sometime later, with the Crisis in full swing, the supervillain Chemo is dropped on the city of Bludhaven, Nightwing’s old stomping grounds. With the force of an atomic bomb, it leaves the city in ruins, with very little communication in or out.

26) Lex Luthor is at the tower and Beast Boy arrives just as Luthor teleports away. The other Titans speak of the Bludhaven situation, and rescue efforts have begun. Gar asks the other Titans where Raven is, as the Doom Patrol is going to meet them at Bludhaven and Gar wants to introduce Raven to his foster mom, Rita Farr.
From there, the Titans move to Bludhaven, working with other superheroes in relief efforts. This is where most of them stay through the rest of the Crisis. Elsewhere, Superboy is killed in battle. Superman manages to defeat Superboy Prime and brings an end to the Crisis. The Titans still work to help others in Bludhaven, right up until they are kicked out by a new team of the Freedom Fighters (as the previous team had been killed earlier in the Crisis).

52

The days following the Crisis were turbulent for the Titans. Robin soon left with Nightwing and Batman, whom had decided that a year of training was needed to hone his skills once more. Beast Boy was left in charge of the Titans, but it was not a happy time for them. Members tended to come and go. Beast Boy’s Titans also commanded little respect during this time.
Twenty one weeks after the great crisis, Beast Boy and his Titans found themselves unknowingly pulled into a plot by Lex Luthor, who was heading a project to artificially create metahumans and revive the team known as Infinity Inc.
A young girl who called herself Trajectory, whom had been involved in the project, later refusing to work for Lex, with aspirations to be the next Kid Flash, was killed in action by Blockbuster when Lex deactivated her metahuman gene mid battle, stripping her of the superspeed granted to her.
27) At the funeral of Trajectory, several Titans leave the team, citing reasons that the Titans are not what they thought they were. Beast Boy is somewhat dejected at the loss of comrades, seeming to blame it all on himself. When Zatara made a pass at Raven, she refused, telling him that Gar needed her support right now.
Beast Boy, knowing something was not right in regards to the battle that cost Trajectory her life, offered the services of his Titans in whatever was going on to John Henry Irons, known better as the hero Steel, which would involve the team in the battles to come.
Soon, Steel would lead his strike against Lex Luthor. The Titans accompanied him to the battle, lending aid in the effort to thwart Lex’s plans for the metahuman project. While not instrumental, they were a part of the eventual victory, leading to Lex Luthor’s defeat at the hands of Steel.

World War III

Before long, The Titans found themselves swept up in an even greater struggle. Black Adam, distraught and angry over the loss of his surrogate family, his wife Isis and brother in law Osiris, went on a global rampage, looking to destroy all those responsible. So great was his destruction that the worlds heroes were forced to take up arms to stop the mad ruler. Among the heroes were the Titans, still led by Beast Boy.
28) The Titans engage Black Adam in Athens, Greece, and Zatara finds himself injured mid battle. For a brief instant, Gar questions himself, wondering what he would perceive as better leaders would do. Raven quiets him, encouraging to believe in himself and to lead them onwards.
29) Black Adam dispatches of Titans member Young Frankenstien by ripping the arms clean off him, leaving the Titan to bleed to death. Beast Boy is forced to make a quick decision. The local paramedics have arrived and Black Adam is still on the rampage. Raven can feel his pain and wishes to save him. It seems like the seeds of a disagreement between them.
30) The Titans then chase Black Adam to the Himalayas. Raven finds herself injured in battle, and Beast Boy swings the jet around to catch her, not wishing her to fall to the ground below.
Soon, Terra II bites of far more then she can chew, taking on the mighty Black Adam head on. She puts up a valiant fight, but to the Titans horror, it does not affect the rampaging superhuman, who merely charges through her assault and punches a hole clean through the geomancer, killing her almost immediately.
31) Black Adam leaves the scene as Raven pleads with Beast Boy to halt the chase. Their wounded need tending, and Terra required a proper burial. Seeming to blame himself, Beast Boy listens, proclaiming that the Titans should have taken care of their own above all else.
Soon after, Black Adam was taken down by the heroes, wit hthe help of Captain Marvel. Raven left before long, for her own reasons unrelated to Beast Boy. The changeling, however, blamed himself for it, and when Robin returned to take the reins from the Titans, he somberly left, joining the Doom Patrol.

One Year Later

32) We open up OYL to see Cyborg flashing through things recorded while he was out for the missing year. The very first one we see is of Beast Boy and Raven. They are discussing the state Cyborg is in, along with Mal Duncan, known better as Herald. Raven says she can feel nothing from Cyborg. Beast Boy asks her what she feels from him. She pauses a moment before telling him she feels the same.
Cyborg wakes up to meet a new group of Titans, consisting of only former villain Ravager, Kid Devil and Robin. Cyborg attacks them, considering Ravager was once a killer and Kid Devil looks remarkably like Trigon now.

33) After he is finally calmed down, Cyborg asks what happened to the other Titans. Robin begins telling him, and states that Raven left after she and Gar broke up. Gar, on the other hand, left for the Doom Patrol.
The Titans meet the Doom Patrol. Eventually, they fight the Brotherhood of Evil, who had cloned a new body for Brain. Before long, the cloned body became unstable, forcing Mallah to rip the head off the cloned body and beat a very hasty retreat. At the end, Beast Boy decides to stay with the Doom Patrol. He tells Cyborg he is the rock of the Titans, and he should check his videos recorded during the missing year.

34) One of the videos is of Raven. She tells the unconscious Cyborg that the other Titans think she is leaving because of Gar, who seems more like Nightwing then his usual self. But that’s not the case. She feels something wrong with the rest of the team.
35) The new Titans embark on a journey, searching for Raven and traveling the world to do it. Another of the videos taken while Cyborg was out reveals that Gar never learned the true reason she was leaving, and that something she had would cause trouble for all the Titans.
Talk of a traitor surfaced with time, though the identity was in question for much of the journey. Finally, the Titans found Raven, whom had resurrected the dead Titan Jericho. Former Titan Bombshell revealed herself to be the traitor, and by the end, Raven and Jericho rejoined the Titans.

Titans East

It wasn’t long before trouble surfaced once more. Deathstroke returned with a vengeance and his own group of Titans, the Titans East. He and his group of anti-Titans, assembled specifically to take down each specific member of the Titans, defeated them all quite easily, with only Raven escaping thanks to Duela Dent, the Joker’s Daughter, switching sides.
Raven returned to the battlefield, several older Titans in tow, including Beast Boy. The battle raged, with Beast Boy taking on Deathstroke himself with little fear. In time, Titans East is defeated, with the revelation that all along, Slade just wanted to help solidify the trust of the Titans in his children, to provide them with the family he could not provide for them.
36) As the Titans move to return back to the tower, Beast Boy makes the declaration that he will tag along. Raven replies that it would be nice to spend some time with him.
37) When they finally arrive at the tower, Raven makes a move to speak to Beast Boy about their strained relationship. At first Beast Boy complies, but concern over Eddie takes over, and he goes to speak to the young Titan. Raven looks almost disappointed that the two did not get to speak to one another.
38) When Match breaks free of Jericho’s grip on his mind, and both Raven and Cyborg are knocked for a loop, it is Raven whose name Beast Boy shouts in worry.
Before long, the events of the Amazon attack on the United States took hold, and several Titans were swept up in the conflict. But the events came and went, and more important Titan business took hold. Beast Boy and Raven were on hand for a eulogy of the fallen Bart Allen, former Kid Flash who died saving thousands. By the end, both Beast Boy and Raven left the Titans, he for the Doom Patrol and she for high school, leaving the younger guard of Titans on their own, and their own relationship issues left undiscussed.

Sons of Trigon

While every other Titan from the old team went their seperate ways, Cyborg had another idea. On the site of the original Titans Tower in New York City , he built a new Titans duplex, with the intention of gathering together several more heroes to form the Teen Titans East. Initially, he tried to gather his old friends to reform the Titans of the glory years, but was rebuffed by them all, leading him to find younger heroes. Among those gathered were teen heroes Vulcan, Little Barda, Hawk III, Dove II, Lagoon Boy and Powerboy; all to be under the tutelage of Cyborg.

This team did not last long. Shortly after forming, these Titans were viciously dispatched by a mysterious attacker. Before they could even find their foe, much less get a hit in, Powerboy was killed when he was impaled on a tree branch, while the others were critically injured and sent into a coma. When Cyborg rushed on the scene, he too was quickly dispatched in a ball of fire which left him nearly destroyed.

Elsewhere, we’re shown that these are far from isolated incidents. Several major Titans and even some of the fringe Titans were attacked by monsters of various varieties. While the heroes managed to defeat their attackers, it still left the question of who attacked them and why. Old friends Nightwing, Beast Boy, Raven, Roy Harper (now Red Arrow), Donna Troy and Wally West (Flash) regrouped to find the source of the attacks, leading them to find the defeated Titans East and Cyborg, all of them sans Powerboy alive, yet in a coma.

The attacks escalate, with other former Titans such as Argent finding themselves attacked and needing assistance. In the midst of all that, Raven, in an attempt to find out what had been causing everything, connects to a different realm and finds herself face to face with her supposedly dead father, Trigon. As she learns, he has found himself in battles with several forces, ones that, despite his having thinned the ranks, he eventually lost against. This loss left him decrepit and his realm now an endless desert. There is a short altercation before the Titans break the connection and bring Raven back to them.

Raven reveals to the other Titans that, through a psychic link to her father, she has learned of three other brides he had aside from Arella, Raven’s mother. After they find the names, the Titans split into three groups. One of which consisting of Raven, Gar and Roy. The other teams begin acting even further from their natures, with Wally and Donna bickering for one. Nightwing and Starfire on the other hand, find themselves overcome with desire, one thing leading to another

39) Ravens team finds the husband of one of the brides in question. We learn that she has since died. Before Roy could get anything from him, however, Raven loses her cool, practically screaming in the man’s face. Gar, having turned into an octopus, physically removes her from the situation.

40) Outside, Raven chastises Roy for being “soft”. This prompts Beast Boy makes a snide remark, to which Raven slings a particularly hard hitting insult. Everything snowballs from there.

41)Roy attempts to stop Gar, now in the form of a gorilla, from his attack. For his trouble, he finds himself swiftly knocked aside.

42) Now tired of dealing with whatever it is that has come over the two, Roy stops Beast Boy using an electrical arrow. The weapon does it’s job, stunning him long enough to stop his rage.

After the fight, the Titans regroup. Raven and Beast Boy quickly learn from the others that they were not the only ones acting strangely. One of the Titans notes that they have all been acting out of character. Wally and Donna found themselves overcome with jealousy towards one another, Nightwing and Starfire were overcome with desire and lust, while Beast Boy and Raven were afflicted with rage; all of which explains the Titans odd behavior.

Soon, the cause is revealed. Trigon sired three sons with the other three brides. Each carries the power of a deadly sin and the ability to inflict it upon others. The three sins in question turn out to be envy, lust and rage; the last in particular being the one brought down upon Beast Boy and Raven, causing their altercation.

The three brothers attack and knock the Titans aside quickly. Most of the Titans fight the three off, but Beast Boy finds that he and Raven have bigger problems. A portal to Trigon’s realm, opening to secure his release, is opening before them. To make matters worse, Raven reveals that she is being used as the portal.

43) Gar holds Raven as the portal grows wider. Trigon can be seen on the other side, ready to break through. Things seem hopeless, but even so, Gar asks her not to try anything suicidally heroic.

44) Raven is then struck down as Gar shouts her name, looking on in horror.

It is revealed that enough residue of the Trigon seed from long ago resides in Beast Boy for powerful magic to draw it forth and engulf him. It is said that she is the portal and that he is the key, all leading to Trigon’s return. But in the end, Raven wins the day. She uses magic to cast the sin of greed upon the brothers, which prompts them to greedily steal Trigon’s power for their own and flee; Trigon still trapped in the other realm.

45) We find out that using the sin of greed takes a toll on Raven. She finds herself constantly vomiting, one of the side effects of tapping into the sin, which she explains is why she never uses it. Gar is there with her in the bathroom, helping her through it by rubbing her back, holding her hair back and wiping the vomit away from her mouth. He mentions that they will ride through it together.

The small crisis over for now, the group discusses the events and how it felt to be together once more. Their discussion begins to veer towards the same place, which Gar recognizes and cuts them off from, deciding to just say it himself and get it over with. They’re as close as a family; and they should stick together. So they do, a team once more.

I Know Your Heart Because I Know Mine

 46) With the fight with her siblings behind her for the time being, Raven returns to school. But it isn’t long before she’s informed that she has a visitor. A familiar green one in the form of a polar bear. Raven is a little unnerved, worried for her secret identity; but Beast Boy assures that he has her covered with the particular way being rather clever.

47) Beast Boy, worried for Raven, asks her to come with him to talk, hoping to help her feel better. Raven questions him as to whether he’s asking her on a date, to which Beast Boy humorously denies, stating he would have brought her candy and flowers. Raven, with a knowing smile, agree’s.

The two step out to get something to eat together, looking to discuss the recent events and Raven’s brothers. Meanwhile, Nightwing and Starfire discuss their time overcome by lust and the feelings they still have for one another. But instead of submitting, Starfire tells Dick that she cannot do this anymore. She explains that she feels as though the two are in a neverending cycle of breaking up and getting back together again; and she’s grown tired of it. Dick reluctantly accepts this. Meanwhile, the quasi-date between Raven and Beast Boy continues.

48) Raven admits that she’s had thoughts of killing the Titans invade her mind; thoughts she could not control. She breaks down crying in front of Beast Boy, claiming that she doesn’t believe herself to be a good person anymore, that the good part of her is just a mask and the evil side is her true self.

49) Beast Boy tries to comfort her, kneeling beside her. He insists that she’s just unnerved by finding that she has siblings like her. But Raven is not convinced, asking him if she sounds different. Beast Boy is confused, despite Raven explaining that she thinks she has been acting different lately. But then, things turn sour as she senses something about to happen.

The Trigon Brothers arrive. Beast Boy tries to defend Raven, but he is swiftly beaten and knocked aside by the three brothers. Raven is engulfed by her evil side, her skin turning red and gaining the extra set of eyes, and she follows her brethren into a portal to hell.

50) Beast Boy, pleading with her not to go, races after the Trigon siblings. He rushes towards the portal, seemingly ready to jump into hell after her, but the four vanish into the portal as it closes behind them. Beast Boy is left alone, crying out Raven’s name in anguish.

Together, Together Forever

51) Beast Boy returns to the rest of the Titans in a panic. Despite his numerous injuries, his only concern is Raven’s welfare and retrieving her before she is corrupted any furthur by Trigon and his sons influence. He even balks against medical treatment, insisting that he’s fine and that there is no time to talk. Roy makes a snarky remark after Donna say’s that Raven had planned for what had happened.

52) Donna reveals that Raven had given her a cosmic artifact to use in case she had been possessed by her dark side. She continues, stating that she had the most experience with magical artifacts and that Raven believed she was one of the least likely to judge her for planning ahead. Donna gives Roy a bit of an annoyed look, to which Roy try’s to defend himself by stating that he wasn’t judging her. He was simply acting like a jerk, believing that with Beast Boy extremely upset, someone had to pick up the slack for snark filled remarks.

The Titans go after Raven, eventually finding her and the Trigon brothers after a brief search. Upon arrival, they realize Raven has become Dark Raven, but it does not stop them. The team engages the Trigon brothers in battle, hoping to defeat them and turn Raven back to normal. But at some point during the fight, Raven turns on her brothers, defeating them swiftly.

53) Everyone thinks that their Raven has returned. Beast Boy in particular shows concern, wanting to know if it’s really her and if she is alright.

The team quickly finds that Raven is far from back to normal, as she attacks and restrains them all. Raven unveils her big plan to rule the world with the only people she has ever loved, all her friends, beside her. Beast Boy is the vessel through which it all would happen, though he would not survive.

But before the plan could be fully enacted, Raven’s soul self arrives, proclaiming that she is facing her greatest fear; turning into Dark Raven. The soul self engulfs Dark Raven and she is defeated. Raven, now in control of herself once more, transports everyone back to the Titans Duplex.

54) Raven explains how she came to the rescue, stating that she hid a piece of herself within the artifact she gave Donna, which allowed her to come forth at the right moment and regain control of herself. Raven states that she can’t be trusted, sords that concenr Gar, who reaches out to her. But she halts his hand, saying it’s the truth, but explains that there is something that they may have in case she turns once more.

55) Raven gives the Titans sure way’s to kill her, explaining that the only way she would feel safe staying with all of them is if she was sure they had a way to stop her from harming them, should she be overtaken once more. Gar is visibly downbeat for a moment, but quickly makes a quip asking if there was anything for if she was acting annoying and that he would like two of that.

After everything is finally said and done, the Titans receive a surprise in the form of an old friend. Jericho, still in Match, is back; and he needs help.

Interim: This Was Your Life, Wally West

Raven states that there is little she can do, but leaves Wally with a warning. She senses a shroud hanging over him and explains that she wants him to be careful. As she leaves, she tells him that he has family, friends and people that love him who would hate to see him harmed.
